News for instructors

Here is some important news instructors may need to know about the end of the Spring 2007 semester. The last day of finals is Friday, May 4, 2007.

Lab hours

ROL115 will be open 9:00a.m. - 4:00p.m. from April 29 - May 4. Evening hours will start back up the second day of Summer, May 15.

Account deletion

We expect to delete student accounts on Tuesday, May 8, 2007. Tell your students that if they wish to copy their work, they need to do so using FTP. We have help on ftp available.

If you want to copy your students' work before the end of the semester, you'll need to do so with the following command:

     copy-www studentname

This will make a directory similar to "s07/studentname/" in your Web directory, and copy all the students' work from their Web directory to it. This program will NOT copy email or any other files located in the students' home directory.

You can put a list of students into this program like:

     copy-www jsmith rdoe tbaker (...)

and it will do them all.
