NWE Help: Web: Authoring: Mozilla Composer: Starting
NWE Home :: Help :: Web :: Authoring :: Composer
Composer can be launched from Mozilla, after you launch Mozilla from the NWE menu. Just click on the NWE menu and select Mozilla to open Mozilla. Then, from the bottom of the Mozilla window, you can click the composer icon (the third from the left) or select composer from the top menu, under window. (Go ahead and do this now, unless your instructor tells you otherwise.)
This will open Composer, which will appear on your screen like this:
We suggest you look through the menu options (File, Edit, Search, etc.) to get a feel for what the program offers. You'll probably find that it shares many of its features with word processors you are familiar with.
To start a new document, click on the New icon. It's the first icon on the top left, right next to the Open button. When you do, the page will appear to be a large blank white document. To see the actual code, click on view, and go down to "HTML Source" or click on the tab at the bottom of the page that says "HTML Source."
Now it's time for us to save this document, then preview the way it will look in Mozilla.
