NWE Help: Web: Authoring: Mozilla Composer: Saving
NWE Home :: Help :: Web :: Authoring :: Composer
To save a file in Composer, do one of the following:
- Choose Save from the File menu
- Press the toolbar button which looks like a disk (third from left)
- Press control-s on your keyboard.
(Most functions in Composer work this way -- you can do them with a menu choice, a button press, or a keyboard command. Work the way you find most comfortable.)
The following dialog box will come up:
This dialog box shows you several things. The top shows the display filter being used. This needs to be /home/nwe/username/public_html to be viewable from the web. The middle of the screen shows the list of files and directories within the top directory (which is listed in the box above). The bottom box is the name of the file you're saving.
- Make sure that you are saving your file in your public_html directory.
- Next, type a file name for the current document. Make sure the file name ends in .html or your document will not look right when viewed in a web broswer. You may want to refer to our suggestions for naming files as well.
- After you've typed a file name, press Enter. The file will be saved. You're now ready to view the file in Mozilla.
