To connect to MOOville from the NWE labs, click on the NWE menu and select MOO client. (If you're not at an NWE terminal, see our help for remote access to MOOville.) The MOOville client program (tkMOO-light) will start up. Under the Connect menu, select "0: MOOville" (it's the first item on the list).

After about ten seconds, a connection dialogue box will come up. Enter your NWE username into the "user" field, and your password into the "password" field. (Note: if you have already logged into the MOO and used @rename to change your character's name, use the new name, not your NWE username.)

When you first begin to use it, your MOOville character has your NWE username as its name, and your NWE password is also your MOOville password. (You can change both of these -- we'll tell how in just a bit.) Press the "login" button to enter MOOville after you enter this information. For security purposes, you password will appear as asterisks (*****).

You will be connected to MOOville and you will be in a "room." The first time you connect, you'll enter at the bus stop, and you'll see:

Sometimes the dialog box doesn't work. In that case just type connect username password (and substitute your username and password) in the pink area at the bottom of the screen. No matter how you type your password, you don't need to enter brackets around it.
