NWE Help: MOO: Intro: Logging
NWE Home :: Help :: MOO :: Intro
Here are the two options for logging. The first is for tkMOO-lite, the MOO client available from the NWE menu as well as on MacOS and Windows computers outside the NWE. The second is for tf, which is accessible from a shell.
Using tkMOO-lite:
Under the "Preferences" menu, choose "Logging." The following window should come up.
tkMOO logging window
Enter the name of a log file and press the "Write to log file" button. (See the example below). Follow the usual conventions for file naming spelled out elsewhere in our help. The MOO will then save the contents of the MOO session to a local file. You can print or edit this file with StarOffice or the HTML editor.

Using tf:
Type /log filename. Of course, substitute the name of the file you'd like your log to be. That file will appear in your home directory. When you're done, type /log off, and the logging will cease. Again, follow the file naming conventions recommended in other areas of the help.
The log format of these programs is slightly different.
If you're using another program, follow its directions -- most MOO clients have log functions, but they may differ a bit from what is here.
