NWE Help: MOO: Intro: Commands
NWE Home :: Help :: MOO :: Intro
Characters use commands to move around and interact with things. Most commands have the form of simple English sentences or words. In most cases you can use fully-formed sentences with nouns, verbs, direct and indirect objects, and prepositions to form your moo commands.
Avoid most articles (e.g. 'a', 'an', or 'the') in your commands; the MOO won't understand them. You can refer to yourself as 'me' and the room you are in as 'here'. Here are some sample commands:
walk to intersection
get candy
hand umbrella to Jordan
For example, look gets a description of something. So to
take a look at the room you are in, type look
here. Actually, just look will do--
To use the MOO, you will type "commands" that indicate where you want to go, what you want to say and what you want to do in the MOO. For example, if you're at the bus stop, perhaps you'd like to read the sign. You type:
read sign
You'll then see the sign. Log in and try it!
For a list of useful commands, see our quick reference page. The rest of this introduction should also be helpful. You should learn how to speak and how to move around MOOville. We'll cover them in that order.
