NWE Help: MOO: Digging: Recycling
NWE Home :: Help :: MOO :: Digging
MOO objects you may no longer need can be destroyed using @recycle. This verb should be used with care, however, because once something has been recycled, it's gone forever!
You can only recycle your own things. The command syntax is simple:
@recycle objectname
When you type that command (or the same command using an object number instead of a name) the MOO will ask, "Are you sure you want to recycle the objectname?" Please don't just type "yes" reflexively -- think about what you are doing first, and only type "yes" if you're sure that object is no longer needed.
General guidelines for using @recycle
- Before you recycle something, make sure you know what it is. If you're not sure, use @d #nnnn to see. If you're not sure if you need the thing, don't recycle it.
- Make sure a room it is empty before you recycle it. You can find out the contents of a room or an object with @contents #nnnn.
- Don't stand in a room as you recycle it!
- After recycling a room, make sure to recycle all the exits which lead to or from it.
- Don't recycle any realms which have rooms in them. Before you @recycle any realm, use @contents to make sure it is empty.
- When you recycle an object, you no longer own it. If you want to re-make the SAME object with a different parent, use @create
