NWE Help: MOO: Clients: TinyFugue
NWE Home :: Help :: MOO :: Clients
TinyFugue is a venerable but dependable client you can use to access MOOville from the shell. To launch it, open a shell by clicking on the NWE menu and selecting "Local XTerm shell" (or with SSH if you're not in Rolfs), and type:
tf moo 9898
If your terminal settings are correct (vt100 will do), you should get a window like this one:
(need a screenshot here)
Tinyfugue can do a lot of stuff for you -- macros and the like -- but most folks don't fool with that. However, one function is very useful:
/log myfile.text
This command logs your MOO session to a text file called myfile.text. You can make this name pretty much whatever you want, though we suggest ending in .text or .txt, and following our file naming guidelines.
After you type a log command, the moo should return:
% Logging to file myfile.text
If it doesn't, you typed the command wrong -- try again.
To stop logging, type:
/log off
One more command:
/quit
Ends your Tinyfugue session and disconnects you from the MOO.
