ImageMagick's palette (visible at the right) provides you with the necessary tools for creating and altering images. Each of the buttons on the palette will bring up a menu.
To work with an image you already have, click on File. A box will open with several options. Choose the first option, "open." Another box will open showing you your home directory and the files you have. All your files will be found in the web/ directory of your account. Double click on web/ and search for the image file you have. If you click on the file name, you will see it in the box below. If you double click on the file name, it will appear on your screen as a file you can now work with.
Most of our online help will show you how to use the various options on the palette.
As you experiment with ImageMagick, keep in mind that if you ever do something to an image that you want to undo, go to Edit >. A box will open with several choices. The first choice is"undo." Clicking here will restore your image to its previous state before the last change was made.
