NWE Help: Graphics: ImageMagick: Enhance
NWE Home :: Help :: Graphics :: ImageMagick
Imagemagick allows you to enhance your images through a variety of tools. If you want to change the brightness, saturation, hue, or overall color of the image, you can do so through the Enhance > option.
To enhance a portion of your image, choose Image Edit > from the ImageMagick palette. Choose Region of Interest. With your cursor, draw our the portion of your image you want to change. Choose Enhance >.
A drop down menu will appear with the various options you can choose from. Each option asks you to enter a numerical value in the dialogue box in order to calculate the degree of change you want. ImageMagick gives you a default for each option. You can change the default by typing in a new number. Experimentation will give you an idea of which setting is best for your image.
Gamma, Hue, Saturation, and Brightness all affect the light in the image. Dull renders the image flatter. Negate transforms the image into its opposite color (i.e., white becomes black). Greyscale turns a color image into a black and white image.
