To draw on your image: Choose Image Edit > from the toolbar. Choose Draw.

The Primitive option allows you to create basic shapes like rectangles, circles, and ellipses. If you want a shape filled in, choose the option that says "fill." If you want to alter the texture of the fill, choose Stipple >. Stipple will create fills composed of different patterns like bricks, scales, wavy stripes, etc.
