To make a screenshot using the Gimp, open the Gimp and select the file menu. Then, go down to acquire and go over to screenshot.
This brings up the dialog box that asks whether you want to Grab a single window or the whole screen and it lets you set the delay.
Set the delay to 10 (for 10 second so you'll have enough time to click on the screen you want, and then wait. Your screenshot will appear in the Gimp and then you can edit or save it.
