Dr. Kincaid's work humorously and provocatively challenges
traditional assumptions about literary criticism, both how to read it
and how to write it. Annoying the Victorians, for instance,
works to break the "rules" of Victorian scholarship, rules Kincaid suggests
are followed mostly by habit. His keynote address for the conference
will be titled:
Weak Theory, Graduate Education, and Other
Monstrosities
Dr. Kincaid's speech will be free and open to the public.
