Here's a list of things you need to do to prepare for your
Computers and Writing 2000 Online session, including important
deadlines.
Dates in red are absolute deadlines. If you
don't meet these deadlines, you will not be included in the CW2K
Online program.
We've prepared a personalized checklist
for presenters you can use to see what information we
still need from you. (You can also use the checklist to submit
that information to us rapidly.)
October 31, 1999
- Start working on your CW2K Online proposals!
Remember, if you propose early, we can respond early, and
if your proposal is accepted, you'll get a wider choice of
presentation dates and times, and you'll have more time to
get any help you might need for meeting presenters'
deadlines!
January 31, 2000
February 1-15, 2000
- We'll send you a MOO presentation helper, and you should begin
corresponding with him or her about the kinds of help you
need to prepare for your presentation. (For those who
are giving presentations to show off other virtual
spaces, we will offer to help you find someone who can be
on hand during your presentation to answer newcomers'
questions and so forth.)
- Agree with your presentation helper about the time(s) and date(s) you
will do your presentation (if you wish, you may do your
presentation more than once, which will allow you to
attract a wider audience).
- Make sure that you have a character for the MOO Connections so that you can begin practicing and preparing.
- New MOOer sessions for presenters will be scheduled during this time.
February 18, 2000
- Today is the last day to send us your choices for your presentation
time(s) and date(s). Send your choices to Tari Fanderclai
at tari@nwe.ufl.edu.
February 25, 2000
If you need help with your web pages, we need to have your materials by
today. See HTML
help for presenters for information on getting our
assistance--if we don't have your materials by today, you'll
have to prepare them on your own!
February 27, 2000
- Your web site must be ready for attendees to view, and you must send us
the URL today. It's fine if your website represents a
project in progress--for example, if your presentation is
about work your class is doing, and they will continue to
add to the site between now and your presentation, that's
okay. But the website must be open and you need to have
materials there that your attendees can begin reading.
Send your URL to Tari Fanderclai at tari@nwe.ufl.edu.
March 1, 2000
- The complete
schedule will be posted today, and you should check
the information about your session to make certain we got
everything correct!
- CW2K Online
registration opens today--be sure to register
yourself and invite your colleagues to do the same!
March 1-10, 2000
- We will hold several tours of the CW2K Online conference center on Connections. These tours will be for conference presenters only, and the purpose will be to give you a chance to view the possibilities and choose a location for your presentation. You may also create a room within the conference center or elsewhere on Connections and hold your session there. You may, of course, explore the conference center on your own or with your presentation helper.
- If your presentation is demonstrating a different virtual space than
Connections, remember to prepare instructions for attendees
to log into your space!
March 13, 2000
- You must let us know by today the name of the room on Connections where
you want to hold your session. Send your choice to Tari Fanderclai at tari@nwe.ufl.edu.
- If your session is not being held on Connections, you must let us know
by today where the instructions are for attendees to use to
get to your session. Send that information to Tari
Fanderclai at tari@nwe.ufl.edu.
March 15, 2000
- Opening day for CW2K Online! Details will be posted.
