Computers and Writing Online 2000 is free and open to everyone who is interested in attending.

Note: Registration for the conference has closed. This form is for informational purposes only.

Register here!

CW2K Online Registration is open now till the end of the conference. If you don't have a Connections character already, you'll receive one as part of registration, and you can also sign up for the email discussion list at that time (you can also subscribe to and unsubscribe from the discussion list any time during the conference)

When you register, you receive immediate email verification of your registration. You also receive a password that allows you to view the complete list of CW2K Online conference attendees and their email addresses, so you'll be able to keep in touch with the people you meet at the conference. Near the end of the conference, your password will let you access a printable registration certificate that you can put in your records.

Getting professional development credit for CW2K Online

If you present at CW2K Online, or you lead a special event or do any of the many jobs we will be asking volunteers to help us with, you will receive by postal mail a signed letter from the CW2K Online Committee, and you can place that letter in your professional development portfolio.

We know that some schools and companies require evidence of your participation in a conference in order to give you credit for your attendance, and we realize that providing this evidence is difficult with a free, online conference. Here's our suggestion:

If you do not present or volunteer for conference jobs, but you attend sessions and you need evidence of your participation in CW2K Online, put together a report including:

  • A copy of your registration certificate
  • A list of URLs for the online materials for the sessions you participated in, which may include web sites, logs of synchronous sessions, and/or archives of electronic list discussions
  • Your own description of the sessions you attended

We hope that many of those who attend Computers and Writing 2000 Online will use our suggestions or similar means to gain professional development credit for attending this conference. By providing your employer or administrator with a suitable report on this conference, you'll help online conferences to gain the legitimacy they deserve!
