I'm not quite sure if the LOTR final movie will have the same reaction only because the previous two have left us (anyone who has seen the previous two movies) with a sense of incompleteness, knowing that the characters still have a tangible way to go until the movie is concluded. With the Matrix trilogy--not having seen Revolutions and basing this opinion solely on the fact that it is only my opinion--I didn't really feel a sense of incompleteness after the first two movies. What I mean is I think the original movie "The Matrix" could have been left alone as it was without having to make any sequels to it, and it would have been OK and considered a great movie. On the other hand, the directors and producers could not have done that after the first LOTR movie, nor could they have done that with the second LOTR movie. On another note, I also feel that the second LOTR movie was actually better than the first; however, with the second Matrix movie, I felt that it was not as good as the first. For example, there are new characters being added each time to the LOTR trilogy and new and old adventures being started and concluded, respectively. With the Matrix movies, though, we already know what to expect, and I feel that with the second movie they tried to do too much with the "bullet-time" type of filming and production. These facts have left me with a wanting to see the third LOTR movie, but an indifferent feeling of seeing the third Matrix movie.
