Palladian Grammar

Posted by Frances (10.2.60.192) on November 06, 2003 at 09:38:16:

hey guys--just to follow up on our discussion from class--I looked up Palladian grammar on google and found stuff about the architectural aspect(a certain style like what we talked about in class)and the House of Leaves aspect. Apparently there is a site with some info on House of Leaves --http://litgeek.elfhame.net/houseofleaves.htm --Anyway, it refers to the note about Palladian grammar and it says it is "a standardized system of drawing floorplans that are highly varied and easily variable". Apparently Zampano was referring to the idea that with a set of mathematical rules, a bi-symmetrical image can be produced that is nearly limitless in possibility and range. That's what it says! Anyway, the site has lots of references to important stuff in the book so check it out if you feel inclined!:)Have a great LONG weekend!
